Urine Walls.

I got the stab in my heart when the landlord of our new house told us we couldn't paint. Usually I would break this rule but given that it is very hard to paint a bay window w/o anyone noticing I have to suffer with the already yellow walls. I like yellow in small doses; a pair of shoes, a small purse, nothing huge. Nor anything I have to look at on a daily basis. How do I even begin to design a home around yellow? And it seems most photos I see people w/yellow walls also have yellow curtains? Why? Does this mean I have to have yellow curtains? Crying on the inside. And outside. Really. I am.

Beastly. Not the Movie.

Pay no attention to the fury monstrosity of a jacket pictured here as I have no intention of scouting out such a piece. But rather refocus your eyes to the pictures behind the beast (hard to do I KNOW). Ripped out Chloe adds from a magazine. GENIUS. I did this look a couple years ago when I couldn't afford art because I spent my paycheck on PBR yet mine didn't look as good as this. The simple frames is what makes these images work as well as being paired w/other pieces of art. I'm down to give this look another go.

Textiles.

I think the textiles in this room are so beautiful in combination & would work well in an adults bedroom or a tween bedroom. I hope to achieve this look in both the bedrooms of my house when we move. A room that feels inspirational to the little lady is most important.

Pouf.

This Calypso for St. Barth silver pouf is sold out online (go figure as it's only $60- & people on interior decor blogs eat these thing up like babies...I mean candy) but my local Target has them. The boyfriend wants an ottoman to rest his metal feet upon & I think wherever we eventually move I can make this work w/however I plan to decorate. Shit, it's $60-, & shiny, why the hell not?

Orange & Navy.

Orange is by far my favorite ACTUAL colour. I have a orange velvet tuffted sofa in storage as well as an orange flokati rug that my Grandmother brought over from Turkey. The combination w/navy makes a powerful impact that I have always adored.

Boyfriend, how do you feel about orange walls? It's not X-Box green but it's loud & in your face, no?

Double Duty.

I'm not a fan of multiple pieces of block(y) furniture pushed against walls. I enjoy clutter but I do not enjoy crowded. Having a nightstand double as a vanity is a perfect way to solve such an issue. While this room is not my particular taste I appreciate it's direction.

I've been in hiding regarding this topic for quite sometime now & I am coming out of the closet. I LOVE THIS COLOUR. Mauve would be the generic colour name for it, a reader of Design Crisis referred to it as 'Velvet Teddy' which is a lipstick colour from MAC. I thought what a genus way to get a sexy name for the colour so I looked at the MAC website myself & decided it was not 'Velvet Teddy' but rather 'Fleshpot'. Which is described as a PALE MUTED PINKY-BEIGE. Ummm, Hello? Jackpot? Sure the name sounds like a really yucky skin disorder but in your head if you think of 'Fembots' when you are saying it it really becomes much more sexy. I LOVE THIS COLOUR. Look how perfectly is lets bright colours just shine like the Broadway stars they dream to be. And on the Miu Miu sexy spectator pumps...Hello hot pink AND neon orange??? Get out of town. This is the colour my future living room will be. It's happening. No stopping me boyfriend. NO STOPPING ME.

Pink.

I might be off my rocker. When I lay in bed at night & dream about how I want my new living room to look (so sexy right?) I envision the living room in the house I grew up in as my blank canvas. Only because it's an older house so it helps me to create a vision. Searching for colours for the home & thinking of paint is making me bonkers. And then for some GOD AWFUL reason I began to think Pink. Pink walls or pink accents. Are my vitamins laced w/crack? Is my teapot filled w/vodka? What am I thinking? Will the boyfriend kill me? Will I overdose on Pepto Bismol? These are my questions.

The boyfriend loves colour. I myself have never been a fan of colour on the walls but am finding myself more & more drawn to the aqua shades. I don't think I could paint a whole room in the shade, but maybe an 'accent' wall will work? Yet I generally hate 'accent' walls? Shit, this is already turning into an argument w/myself.
